- Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA)
- Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV), Global Infrastructure Basel (GIB), C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA)
Serving as a continuum of the first-ever Subnational Project Preparation (PP) Practitioners' Forum organized during COP23 aimed at identifying, connecting and scaling-up Project Preparation Facilities (PPFs) for subnational projects, this Networking Event presents a unique opportunity for exchange between multilateral & bilateral development banks, private banks, local DFIs, NGOs, and national and regional dedicated programs and initiatives on their complementary activities on PP.
The CCFLA, mandated through the Marrakech Roadmap for Action on Localizing Climate Finance to provide recommendations on the comprehensive ecosystems of PP support, will discus the key findings of the Research its members have undertaken on PP in the course of 2017 in particular a study profiling a set of PPF in Asia and Latin America. This research forms part of the work of the CCFLA Working Group on Project Preparation (including GIZ, ICLEI, GIB, UN-Environment, C40, UN-Habitat, AFD, SIF and FMDV which co-hosts the CCFLA Secretariat).
During the panel discussion high-level representatives from PPFs, bilateral development organisations and private finance institutes will discuss approaches, best practices and experiences in supporting cities to deliver transformative and finance-ready infrastructure projects.
The Event contributes in implementing the New Urban Agenda and the achievement of the SDGs by addressing the need for better framed rural-urban linkages and key urban development challenges, particularly on delivering sustainable infrastructure and unlocking long-term private investments through PP support, while engaging the crucial role played by local and regional governments as highlighted during the Habitat III.
