Ahmad Jawid Tahiri has more than twenty years of professional experience in Afghanistan, including nine years of development work for USAID Mission in Afghanistan, five years with UN agencies, and currently working with Afghanistan Independent Land Authority as Deputy CEO - Land Management. With USAID during his nine years of work, Mr. Tahiri served the Office of Economic Growth and Infrastructure as Cognizant Technical Officer/Contracting Officer's Representative for a wide variety of large and complex development projects and activities in the fields of land reform, legal and regulatory reform, sub-national and economic development, while also managed a wide range of provincial and regional field work. Mr. Tahiri as senior project management specialist also served as COR for USAID's largest politically and socially sensitive land reform project of almost 4 years, and previously served as COR on a number of economic growth projects and a few inter agency agreements..

Earlier he also served as the Deputy Program Director of the Afghanistan Stabilization Program, a National priority program, where he gained valuable management experience supervising over 40 staff and multiple directorates, including operations, project implementation, strategic communication, planning and evaluation, advisory services to provincial governors.
